Yesterday, a very warm but surreally hazy Easter Sunday, we went to a real ghost town. Houses were not victorian but modern, there was a broken computer in the only house you could get into, and unconnected light switches. Windows were walled shut, roads were thick with dust, vines had grown and died on the outer walls and we even found a gravestone in the piles of rubble. I thought if an apocalypse happened tomorrow, that's what the world would look like, only without anyone to wall the doorways shut.
