OMG - DD! Thanks so much to *Jeannieblue for suggesting and ^RockstarVanity for featuring! I wanted to do this concept for ages before I finally got to, and now several months later it has a DD - it means so much! QF and I are very proud of our baby! :D

If anyone's in the UK Birmingham area: another picture from this series, as well as several others of ours, are being exhibited from the 31st of July to September 11th this year. Click here for more info!

Is really quite lovely. Whereabouts did you take this, and might I ask, is there a purpose to him having the stick?

This was taken by a church in Wolverhampton, UK. :) And yes the stick was for poking the plague victims, instead of touching them. These doctors weren't really doctors in most cases, just people with a vague idea of what they were doing, to say "Yes, he's got the plague, he'll die." Because they weren't always volunteers they were terrified of getting infected themselves, so they touched the sick as little as possible.

Such lovely architecture in the older parts of the world, us canadians have SFA when it comes to locations like these. And thank you for the history lesson! I don't know that about the plague side of things.

Wikipedia is my friend :D It's weird because nobody seems to know the plague doctor image - I mean, some do, but it's not as well-known as, say, the grim reaper. For me, the two were almost synonymous throughout my childhood, and now that I've done these pictures I'm surprised how few people recognized what it was supposed to be - I mean, the streets when we did the pictures, people were like "Holy crap!" and "Wtf is that?" Not in a derogatory way, they just really didn't know. I don't think they'll forget it soon though :XD:
