You guys might have noticed a lot of it floating around mine, =quietly-filthy and =Nsaia's DA galleries. As I've just edited a load of new pictures, I felt it was time for an entry putting it all together in one place.

First, though, for those of you who don't know, (you can also go to wikipedia.org ) Tanz der Vampire is a German musical based on Roman Polanski's "Fearless Vampire Killers", directed by the very man, with music written by Jim Steinmann. It premiered in Vienna in 1997 and it's been playing more or less non-stop since, going to various cities in Germany, as well as Estonia, Poland, Hungary, and Japan. So it's pretty huge. Sadly, it flopped on Broadway because they FIRED Jim Steinmann (???!) and changed basically everything. So... a lot of English speaking people don't know about it. Hence the explanation.

Plot: Vampire "killers" Professor Abronsius and naive assistant Alfred travel to Transsylvania. Once settled at a local inn, Alfred falls for Sarah, the daughter of the innkeeper. Sarah has, however, attracted the attention of the resident vampire, Graf (count) von Krolock, who just that night invites her to his midnight ball, sends her some red boots for the occasion, and off she goes. Her father, Chagal, goes off into the blizzard to find her, returning as a vampire. To prevent his own staking, he leads Abronsius and Alfred to the castle, where they are greeted and given bed&breakfast by the count. After a night spent tossing and turning, they endeavour to find and kill the vampires while it's still day. They fail epically, Alfred finds Sarah, who, though still alive, doesn't WANT to be saved, about which he emotes. Then he gets hit on by the count's gorgeous gay son , the midnight ball commences, Sarah gets bitten by the count amongst a crowd of horny vampire guests, then, finally, Abronsius and Alfred manage to drag her out of the castle and into the wilderness, where she promptly bites Alfred. He dies and reawakens as a nosferatu while the Professor writes notes of how he overcame the vicious beasts, The End.
